Scientific sessions will include invited and contributed papers. Contributed papers will be selected for oral or poster presentations.

Abstract guidelines:

An abstract that does not conform to the following guidelines will be returned to the author for revision.

Language: English ONLY

Format: Rich Text Format (.rtf) or Word (.doc) file

Max size: 250 words (body)

No pictures, tables, or graphs

Steps to submit an abstract:

1.	Format an abstract according to instructions in Abstract template
2.	Pre-register for the symposium through on-line system [see table to the right] - - >
3.	Submit an abstract through on-line system [see table to the right] - - >
4.	Confirmation email will be sent to you instantly, after abstract submission

Update your "Contact Information"and click "Update" button to open "Meetings" page

In Section 1 of "Meetings" page tick the box(es) for the meeting(s) you want to pre-register, and click "Submit" button to open Section 2*

In Section 2 of "Meetings" page click on "Submit an abstract" link to open "Submit an abstract" page and follow instructions to submit an abstract

Information about successsful abstract submission should appear on the screen

Omit step 3 if you already have pre-registered

By August 15 submitters should receive notification emails from PICES Secretariat regarding the acceptance of their abstracts (as oral or poster presentations).^*

Session convenors will do their best to accommodate authors' preferences for oral or poster presentations. The number of oral presentations accepted for an individual special session, however, may be limited by the availability of oral timeslots. Therefore, some of the abstracts might be moved to the Poster Session. However, some presentations might have a chance to be moved back to the Oral Session ONLY IF the Presenter's name is in the list of potential replacements (please check "Schedule" page after the schedule is finalized) and the cancellation occurs.

Session convenors reserve the right to reject submitted abstracts that are poorly written, do not follow the submission guidelines, and/or are completely beyond the scope of the conference. They also have the right to move the abstracts to more suitable sessions.
